
Taylorsville councilmembers assigned new duties
On Jan. 4, members of the Taylorsville City Council voted to fill the positions of chairperson and vice chairperson. Jerry Rechtenbach, councilperson for District 3, was re-elected as chairperson, and Dama Barbour, from District 4, was elected as vice chair.
Each council member has responsibilities over different committees within the city. Those duties are as follows:
Councilmember Rechtenbach: Youth Council, Budget Committee, Arts Council, ICSC, and Taxing Entity Committee.
Councilmember Barbour: Economic Development Committee, ChamberWest, Salt Lake County Sanitation Board, and ICSC.
Councilmember Ernest Burgess: Healthy Taylorsville, Green Committee, and Leisure Activities, Recreation and Parks Committee.
Councilmember Larry Johnson: Taylorsville Cemetery Board, Historic Preservation Committee, and Ordinance Review Committee.
Councilmember Kristie Overson: Public Safety Committee, Mosquito Abatement Committee, and Association of Municipal Governments
Mayor Russ Wall also presented two individuals to the City Council to be considered for Treasurer and Recorder. John Inch Morgan, the city administrator, was selected as Treasurer, and Cheryl Peacock Cottle was r-selected as Recorder. Each of these positions is held for one year by the individual appointed.
