Bennion Jr. High student crowned Teen Princess of America

Maddie Jonely, a ninth-grade student at Bennion Jr. High in Taylorsville, was crowned Teen Princess of America on March 2 during the pageant event in Branson, Mo. The two-day event was held at the Welk Theatre and Resort in Branson.

The pageant system is for girls ages 3-18 and geared towards helping them develop communication skills, confidence and poise. There are six age categories. Maddie won in the 16-18 Miss category. Competition included interviews, formal wear and onstage introduction.

Maddie, as the national teen titleholder, will represent the Princess of America Pageant nationwide. She will have the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for the “Crowns With A Cause” organization which connects local, state and national titleholders across the country to share their platform, raise awareness of key issues and use their crown to make a difference. Crowns With A Cause lends support to organizations such as the Make A Wish Foundation & Dreams to Reality.
