Popular Design Mill & Cabinet is a locally and family-owned custom cabinet manufacturer. Popular Design has been a wholesale cabinet distributor for 15 years and recently extended its craftsmanship to the public. The mill is located at 5265 West 4820 South, allowing its salesmen to quickly meet with homeowners to design and provide a free estimate. Let the kitchen of your dreams become a reality by getting a bid today.

"Our salesmen have at least 10 to 15 years of experience and are very knowledgeable to help with the design process," says owner Stanley Kelsch. "We are confident that you won't find a better cabinet for the price."

That assurance comes from Stanley's ability to keep overhead low as well as run an efficient shop. He uses state-of-the-art computer numerically controlled equipment to minimize errors and provide a custom fit cabinet for each customer.

All cabinets are made with a three-quarter inch fused melamine with concealed hinges. These construction materials, Stanley says, adds durability and easy maintenance which is always a plus.

Popular Design offers three tiers of cabinet door styles in order to fit any budget. The tiers also make the selection process a lot easier for the customer.

The Buildersline is for the budget-minded customer. The cabinet doors are made from either melamine or paint grade medium density fiberboard. The door's finish can be painted, laminated or wood veneered. These cabinets are also great for storage rooms and garages.

The Streamline is the next tier with three wood types. This is Popular Design's most popular line and therefore Stanley stocks a good inventory of Knotty Alder, Rustic Cherry and Rustic Maple doors.

"Knotty Alder provides a beautiful rustic look for those on a budget," he says.

The Customline is the highest tier and includes all the wood types out in the market today such as walnut, hickory, pine, maple and even bamboo.

"We are starting to see the trend moving from Knotty Alder to more of a paint-grade hickory or cherry," Stanley says. "People want to create a kitchen that is something different from what everyone else has."

Should customers already have a stain or paint color in mind, the finishing team can custom match that stain or color to meet the customer's specifications.

Customers will always get what they ask for and that peace of mind carries through with Popular Design's warranty. Stanley gives all his cabinets a five-year warranty to help his customers feel comfortable and confident with his product.

"We are a family owned business and so we all care about the quality of our cabinets," he says. "We warranty our cabinetry to be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal residential usage."
